Accreditations and Approval
Before starting your studies, it’s very important to know if the college you choose has all the necessary accreditations and approvals. Those are required for the school to be able to provide graduates with the licensure and diplomas that will allow them to practice their professions. In order to obtain approval, the school must earn accreditation, which entails a detailed examination and a recurring review of the school’s educational curricula, staff, equipment, facilities, administration and overall management, according to the accrediting agencies’ guidelines.
If your school does not have the required accreditation, you will not be able to participate in Federal Financial Aid programs.
Summit College has appropriate approvals for all the programs it offers. The school was approved by the Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education in 1992, soon after it was founded in 1991. In 1994 the College received its National Accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). We are also approved by the U.S. Department of Education.
Our Dental Assistant program offers Coronal Polishing and X-Ray training, which are approved by the Dental Board of California, and our Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program is accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technicians.
