Reporting to the Dean of Academics, the Electrical Instructor has the following responsibilities:

We are seeking experienced electricians interested in preparing students for electrical careers. We are accepting resumes for both full-time and part-time, day and night school positions at our El Cajon campus.

Job Requirements

A solid background working with Residential and Commercial, the NEC, PLC’s, Electronic Controls and Electrical Machine Control.

Comfortable speaking in front of large crowds (up to 30 students at a time)

The ability to build rapport and trust with students.

E-2 License plus five (5) years documentable occupational work experience.

Curriculum development and program consulting.

Faculty will be expected to teach Basic Wiring, Residential Wiring, AC-DC, Motor Controls, and PLC.

Teach a variety of topics in the electrical trades. Coursework ranges from fundamentals of DC and AC circuits to more advanced electrical systems in residential, commercial, and/or industrial settings.

Must be knowledgeable in Electrical safety, commercial, industrial and residential lighting. Possess a working knowledge of relay logic and motor control principles. Experience and knowledge of PLCs, NEC Code and transformers a plus skill set

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of the skills and underlying theories related to electrical installation, repair, and renovation.
Innovative, flexible and positive teaching style and understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds.

Job Experience & EDUCATION:

Applicant should possess a Certificate or Degree in the Electrical field. A current Electrician E-2 license, plus 5 years experience in electrical installation and/or electrical maintenance. Prior teaching experience is a plus.
